The story began when Savina and Angelica were traveling and wine tasting through the picturesque countryside of Italy. They stayed at a charming bed and breakfast owned by a family originally from New Orleans. The warmth and personalized touch of their hospitality had them thinking, “We could do this too!” That night in Tuscany, the seed was planted of what would eventually lead them to Hotel Sages.

Once they returned home, they began looking for properties that would make great short-term rentals. At first, the aim was to purchase a villa, however, they didn’t want to just invest. Savina and Angelica wanted a place they could truly call a second home, somewhere they would be happy to live part of the year. That’s when they thought of Bali.

Why Bali?
Savina had visited Bali once before and fell in love with its unique blend of culture, beauty, and tranquility. While Angelica had yet to experience Bali firsthand, she agreed it was a place where she could see them thriving. As luck would have it, one evening Savina stumbled upon a listing for a hotel that was within the price range they had set for a villa. She turned to Angelica and said, “I want this hotel.” Without hesitation, Angelica replied, “Ok, call the realtor.”

That moment led them to an unexpected journey. Savina and Angelica began working with a real estate team, legal team, and a tax consultant to ensure a smooth transition into Bali’s hospitality industry. It was a whirlwind of decisions and planning but also disappointment as funding for the project fell through so they had to start back at square one. But they persisted, never gave up, dared to dream and the universe conspired to manifest their dreams into reality.
